RSK Group Sponsors Sri Lanka 2018 Marine Research Expedition

With much gratitude from all the team we are pleased to announce that RSK Group Ltd are now sponsoring the University of Glasgow Sri Lanka Expedition!

The task of funding a fully-fledged research expedition from scratch has taken the combined strength of 10 high spirited university students and the wonderful support of the fellow students, family, and the public. To make such and expedition a reality however, we also needed to search for aid further afield; fortunately help was at hand.

Chief Executive Alan Ryder of the Company RSK has decided to help us on our final leg of fundraising with a generous monetary sponsorship. It is with the help of their backing that we are now overseas armed with our microscopes and clipboards in the name of science allied with those protecting the threatened and fragile ecosystems of Sri Lanka’s coastlines and reefs.

RSK’s headquarters are situated in Helsby, many more offices are found around even one right in Glasgow, our team's home city!

A little bit of history…

Founded in 1989 with just a handful of people, the company has grown to reach current annual turnovers of £112 million. In 2016 it was presented the prestigious Queens Award for Enterprise in international trade, as a recognition by Her Majesty the Queen as being a business of top quality.

RSK responsibilities

The RSK is actively committed in its responsibility to the environment, and society. They have raised money for the charity Water Aid three years running, and supported environmental organisations such as the Ashton Hayes Going Carbon Neutral Project, among many others (click here for more info).

We believe that RSK’s environmental and social endeavours make it a well-suited sponsor for our expedition which will focus on environmental conservation through three marine research projects and social work with potential school outreach programmes.

Once again, we want to say a big thank you for all the support from the RSK!
